Hi you are right! I got my 550D today. Total is 3 working days nia...will attend the training on Thursday. First time on DSLR so better spend some time to know the basics
Just come back from CSC n booked a 550D KitII. Surprisingsly, it cost $1480 instead e $1429 of what previous owners bought there. Ask them abt e price diff n they can only say there's a price ajustment. Felt cheated but it's ok coz still cheaper than other shop. N now can't wait to get hold of the camera....

May I know tt u compared with other shops, e.g. Alan Photos, etc...Is It still cheaper for 550D?
I'm waiting for COMEX promo then go down to get the 550D. (COMEX will be held on 2-5 Sept, Suntec)

what ever it is.. same or not same for PPP and recomended shops.. it will still be better than buying from COMEX...
just avoid buying from IT fairs... don't be another one that bites the dust~!
I'm not recommending to buy in COMEXT direcly. In fact, the COMEX promotion is also valid in PPP coz the freebies is controlled by canon.
I've missed the last boat during last IT fair when Canon PPP giving the same freebies +extra warranty as IT fair.. but i not sure whether this is still works next wk.. will go n chk it out

hope to give my 2 cents for people doubting the PPP. I got mine 2 weeks ago.
Canon 550d kit II - $1429 (with bag, and 8GB SD card, 550D user guide)
-please note you MAY not get the user guide if the camera is bought outside. This guide is great for newbies.
So far, I read that the cheapest through the shops outside is around $1584 with the same freebies. That will be a $155 difference. You can use this spare amount to get yourself a small dry cabinet, which in my opinion, is more necessary than any other freebies. So far, no shop give free dry cab I think......as mine is just a kit lens, I invested the difference in a Hoya UV filter (normal one to protect the lens from knocks) and a small dry cab. Next item on my shortlist is a entry level tripod as I am learning to shoot sunset. Only then will I exceed the cheapest rate the shops outside are offering. But come to think of it, with the savings through PPP, I get to select the add ons that I want based on my preferences, and not bound by the standard free items.
Therefore as a newbie who benefited from the PPP, I encourage anyone with an old or broken Canon to just go for the PPP. Dun need to compare already.

They will process your "deal". and wait for them to call you. It can be 3 working days or 1 or 2 weeks depend on stock availability.
Eg. The colour I want is out of stock. Inform them to check another colour, able to collect it about 5 working days after the 'deal'.

Just went back from CSC... quoted 1480 for 550D kit II.
They said the PPP does not include free give (batt + crumpler bag)... so sad.
I think buying from normal shop (with extra batt + crumpler) is worth it... but must get the camera during comex (2-5 sep)

Hey... is S$1480 inc GST?
I called PPP and ask, the online warranty is applicable le... I'm gg down to chk soon..
MS color quoted me 1590 inc GST free Tokina UV filter n screen protector.
