u can always claim some fault... say u dun wanna repair and want to buy a new one. They won't bother to chk.

Just walk in, take a ticket for repair and when it's your turn, request for PPP. They will ask you which camera you want.

Hey guys thanks for the prompt reply!! Just want to ask, the percentage of "discount" they give for new cameras under the PPP, what is the least?? because my canon camera is quite a old model (more than 3 years back)..

If you have been reading the thread, the discount is fixed and doesn't matter what camera you trade in.

I was at canon last week. Brought in my ixus 55 to trade in. Told them I wanna participate for PPP. counter stuff just ask me for my particulars and ask what was the problem. After I told him and offered to show him, he said it's fine. He didn't even bother to check. It seems that they really close both eyes on that. so not to worry.

actually i was saying 1100D not 1000D... guess i type too fast...

When did you friend get the 600D? I got it on 11 April 2011.

he got it in late march... he told me he paid around $10 plus minus more than he expected...

Either this is a first or your friend remembered wrongly. The pricelist of page 12 was some time in mid March and when I traded in, it was 5th April 2011 (already stated the price), and paid on 11th April 2011. Totally no change in price. I traded in a bare Year 2000 film camera w/o batteries or whatsoever but that doesn't matter coz based on everyone's account, the discount rate is the same regardless of camera (no one has tried using a 1Ds MIII yet though).
