as well get S series...such as S30, S40, 45

3/4MP, more compact, use lithium battery and full manual control (similer to D30)

they are in different price range imo. can you explain in what ways are s series better over than A60/70 besides the compact factor? i am thinking of getting a70 (gotta get more opinions on the camera) :) *cheers*

went down to CP yesterday and played with a70 for a while, felt that the build quality is better than a40. Another thing was that it actually has focusing areas just like their SLRs but apparantly it will automatically search for the focusing areas as to how to control it i have no idea. the zooming button instead is found around the shutter release button just like the on/off button in nikon's DC. well, in my opinion a good budget camera with manuals control :D :D

BUY BUY!!!!

how is the aperture priority mode ? about how many different value can i choose ? i'm seriously considering this camera.

hope you can help me thank you :), i have read reviews it just shows the highest aperture and lowest aperture.

Av: f2.8, 3.2, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.6, 6.3, 7.1, 8.0.

At full tele 3x zoom, only f4.8 onwards is accessible.

:D

*Happy owner of the new A70*

Read the Canon web site!

There are some BIG differences between the old A40 and the new A60.
In particular, it has Apeture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual
exposure settings. It also has a Manual focus. Unless one is an
inexperienced photographer who does not understand the importance of
being able to set your f/stop and shutter speed and are content to
have the camera make these decisions for you, this amount of control
is what really makes photography both a science and an art.

Does it hav manual focus??????? :dunno:

yes it has. dunno how many step focus. use button to do manual focusing.
