No offense to others here.
But I would prefer your type of photos compared to "posed" shots. So, good on you.
Thanks bro.

to get the lighting all right and their purpose of shot. I would say
a risky try.

Yeah of course i'm happy and also proud too. One of the best

announced my school. Thanks Canon! even though i'm a Nikon user.

Do i sense boot licking here? HAHA ;p
Imo, i like this shot, it explains itself, and the moment of the boy and the barber being there is just right. Like what ahbian says, i too, prefer such shots over composed. It might take skill to get composition and lighting correct for posed shots, but i feel it takes even greater skill to capture subjects as they are, and adjusting your technique according to available light and uncontrolled environmental situations, right on the spot making the decision within seconds before the photo opportunity is gone.
Congrats for the 3rd place! Keep it up!
My fiancee also took part for the fun of it.

The diamond is big.0.5ct or more......haha
Hahah, What's in it for me? Just starting my preferences. Not to say posed shots are lousy or takes less effort and technique, just that I appreciate candid ones more.
I couldn't make it for this year's contest, but last year's entries were so full of people jumping in the air, I find myself scratching my head.
