this is what i got from www.ddelectronics.com.sg. so the warranty is inhouse warranty.
Warranty terms & conditions
All products DD Electronics Pte Ltd sells are brand new and come with warranty 12 months parts and labour except for batteries. If the item you have bought has a manufacturers fault during the first 30 days after purchase we will simply replace it.
As we are a direct importer or parallel importer the responsibility of the warranty belongs fairly with us however many products we do sell come with worldwide warranty provided by the manufacturer so where this worldwide warranty is provided, you can go to the manufacturer directly for service but with any item you need help with you can come directly to us ,we of course are very happy to help you. We have been involved in Direct Importing and handling Digital equipment successfully for many years and we take care of our customers over 60% of our business is repeat customers so if we did not they would not be returning to get more items if they were not satisfied. Our Group as a network of stores and businesses in USA and Australia and are very experienced in looking after customers after sales service needs.Notwithstanding the foregoing, all batteries are only warranted for 3 months.

I think the cooler feel has to do with the colours in the photo. Maybe it is also my WB adjustment. For example,
this photo feels cooler.
this photo feels warmer.
As to whether the $300 is justifiable. It is subjective. But all the bros here recommended the lens so it can't go wrong.

agree, that photo was taken on a very grooming day. the background is dark if you see careful and the day is not very bright. if you look at the color the parrot, i think color is good enuff!I think the cooler feel has to do with the colours in the photo. Ok, guess i will pay that $300 more, rather than purchase canon and in the end sell it and get sigma again in the future. that will cost even more. Looking forward to getting one right away

.btw, just have to try and feel it yourself. I read around also a lot before I bought my tamron 17-50, but quite disappointed

why disappointed ? u got the tamron 17-50 non vc or vc? the non vc is one of the sharpest lens .. u can see data in photozone.de... all those what cano nikon stand at the side... dun play play....
