Canon NP-E3 NiMH battery

I hope that EastGear did try this new thing on a 1DsII or a 1DII camera for a while before selling it to us.

Personal feel is that the battery pack might over power the camera body. That is why I would rather buy another NP-E3 than to buy something that you have unless what you are using is a Li-Ion battery. That might be a different thing altogether.

Hi agape01,

Care to shed more light on this? I'm interested to learn more.

Cheers,

There is a regulator circuit to control voltage & current output (to match the original battery) so there is really no issue that the battery pack will over power the camera. Anyway, the reason why we took so long to launch this battery in the market is because of the very stringent tests that were undertaken to ensure that this battery works perfectly with the camera.

Thanks for the reassurance... that is greatly appreciated. However, I have to wait for one of mine to die first before buying one of yours.

Anyway, as I have stated before, it is only a gut feel/impression that I have. That's all. Hope that I didn't cause any misunderstandings. If I did.... I apologise. :)

the other thing then would be the water proof cap.
Historically, it's one of the problems of the 3rd party's batteries
Otherwise I would be very keen to get some handy...

Any comments?

I've been using third party battery for my 1Ds and now on my new 1Ds Mk II so
far I don't face any problem with them.I have 5 of them and all working fine,by the way I bought them from a local store, from their feed back so far no complain from anyone.

interested in getting a few..

Read that many people had encounter problem using 3rd party NP-E3 NiMH batteries on their 1 series cam.

Have these problematic issues been resolved? Any good 3rd party brand to recommend?

Most of the time I'm 'Heng' I got no problem with those that I get from the local store but some of my friend do face some problem with the batt and the store will replace them with a new one.I have got some from the online store, well it took me more than three months to replace them and I have to paid for the shipment.
Those third party batts are mostly from china and due to the Chinese New Year there is a delay in their shippment as told by the store owner, and only those who left thier contact will get the stock once is in, the rest will be export out to their oversea customers.
Good Luck. :)
