Read that the recommnded retail price is RMB 10480, that is around SGD 2k for a FF that shoot 6fps, 15M and Digic4, tempting.

Yes, the price mentioned is for 50D not 5D..human eyes get tricked easily. hehe.

The perculiar rounded pentaprism bulge looks pretty nice actually, curvy. Quite different from 1D, and 5D too. And the hotshoe mount is non-painted, nice. Interesting small observation.

Its looks totally real to me. This is the real deal. The 7 is slightly striped, and no one will spend so much time doing the "strips". Its looks 100% real to me

All I have to say is you are really easy to please.

What KangS did is the SOP for finding out if an image is composited or whether it is a real image. Of course, on the surface, to our normal eye, it looks more or less normal.

I ran the image through photoshop to raise the shadows and toyed with the channels.

The picture seems to indicate a fake. The shadow edges of the "7" do not match that of the other letters. The highlight surfaces of the "7" do not match the other letterings either.

Also, there are hints of erasure of the old "5" from the image and the "7" thereafter pasted over.

And its not an original Canon advert image for sure. Those would have been assembled in vector programs like illustrator and not in photoshop. I see evidences of the "Canon" wording being a cut-and-paste job after toying with the image.

Haha, I am blur lah, see wrongly 50D thought 5D. Anyway economic outlook is not good, so if the camera makers can't afford to sell at very high prices like before.
I bought 4D very often but to buy 5D replacement, I will need to fasten my belt and save the money for it. haha.
