canon more popular than nikon???

On another note, years back, the Canon "L" lenses, was a well respected family of lenses with pros in US & Europe using them (or was it a sponsored deal ?). Dunno abt now.

Lastly, other than the lenses, it is the idiot who push the button that counts.

Actually, I was refering to myself. I set aside my collection of 35mm SLR and stick to my PhD (push here dummy) camera by Fuji & Olympus. With amazing results !

Now, with digi cam. this idiot has to relearn every buttons all over again. :dunno:

Who says that Canon got the market majority for only entry level cameras? Dun you guys watch soccer? Notice the guys behind the goal posts and at the side? I think for every guy who's using a Nikon there, there's at least another 8 guys using a white lens with the red ring. Dun think they are using entry level cameras loh.

Seems like Canon is the brand of choice among sport photographers too. Just to clarify, I meant among sport photographers only. I dun noe what photographers in other field uses. Hasselbhad? ;p

How about
EOS 1n-HS
EOS 1n-RS
EOS 33
EOS 50e

There was also a EOS 100 which was limited in production.

In terms of comparison, well true lah, Canon has more entry level cameras, that's why their market share is so big.
And the comparision of pro-film cameras can't be made really....
Cos Canon's and Nikon's pro-cameras are made for different time period lah, I feel. In recent times, Nikon's main pro-camera has always been the F5, and no doubt it's a damn solid and functional camera. But it's also doubtless that Canon's market strategy is good. They made different versions of the EOS 1n to cater to different users.

since i am very new to photography I was confused over which was better - nikon or canon.
Read articles about them - Canon vs Nikon.

My conclusion: It doesn't really matter what brand as long as you take great pictures and the satisfaction that the camera served your needs well.

Of coz, once you've gotten tired of the Nikon vs Canon thing, get the ultimate - either the Leica or Hasselblad cameras. Then now one will say their N/C/M/P is better.
