Was your 24-105 attached to the Body and BG when you put it into your 5MDH? Or must you detach everything? The reason why I asked was because I tried but could not...

I put in my 5D with grip and a 17-40 with a little bit of room left in front for my blower, so it's possible.

Thanks for your input. I must have c--ked it up somewhere yesterday at the Canon organised talk. Like that soon, many of you will be walking around with the stylo red Canon 5MDH bag! Now that I missed the opportunity, don't know where I can find some more of these red 5MDH...
I won't cos i have my own 7 MDH.

Just that recently spent too much money on Cammy & accessories that my better other half is kao beh kao boo-ing. She would rather I spend this $110 buying something she likes than accumulating more and more camera bags... haha....

Different shops different prices so it's not surprising.
I find the bag very striking and with the Canon word, it might attract people attention that this is a camera bag. Of cos SGP should not have any issues but if you are going to other countries, (theft) i will not bring this bag with me.
I do not want to attract unnecessary attention and caused my bag to be stolen. Overall, it is a good bag from crumpler.

For the general multitude who knows that the Crumpler MDH series is already a camera bag, even without any Canon wording will not make a diff.

Nah. dun buy 5 million dollar home. im using it currently. think its too small for me. bought it when i just started photography. u will think its good. small and compact. but after a while u will think its too small and u will intent to change again. i rather u invest in a 7MDH. its big. but better than 5.
Depends on individual. I used to have a 5 MDH and it's gd for carrying light without all your full battle order equipment.

the 24-105 is attached to camera but the BG is detached. So when I want to shoot..
load in the BG...I avoid detaching the lens as less as possible... dust control ;p
I don't mind a flashy bag...but I do mind the carrying the weight :sweat: getting old.
So a small bag is good.
Yes but what about the word Canon? Especially 3rd world countries, they will know what is Canon but not Crumpler. :bsmilie: or even singapore, i am sure people (general public not Csers or photographer) will know about the brand Canon but not Crumpler.
Can you find a official crumpler shop in Thailand? I don't think so. Why does pro or even journallist gaffer the model on their camera even though they are already showing people that it is a camera by shooting with it but taping the model will lower the risk of theft.
This is my opinion, the Canon word has spoilt the nice looking bag and i do not think that is a show off to people that you are having a DSLR in the bag.

Well, I think it is individual choice, whther u wanna buy this limited edition bag. Personally, I don't think that it will make any difference whthr anot u r carrying a bag that screams canon or an ordinary bag. Haha, its like u r carrying a Gucci or LV! When u r travelling or in singapore, its a matter of responsibility as well. I love loud colors, too bad, the 7 MDH doesn't come in red and I've got to settle for the grey pc.

Yes you are right, but will a camera bag with camera and lenses cost more than a LV bag (not all though)?
Furthermore, electronic stuff are easy to get rid off in the 2nd hand market and there are demand for it but for bags and other stuff, you might not know whether the bag are genuine or not and the price you sold to 2nd hand dealers are not very high. I remembered my GF Gucci handbag which she cost $1200 can only fetch a pathetic $300 even though it is almost like new.
Sorry if i have offended those who bought the bag but this is my view on this. Thanks

Anyway, it's just my earnest POV on the camera bag...like i said, you are to be responsible for your own belongings...hahahaha...
Gaffering is more of a protection to the camera/equipment, not to hide from others the brand or what. Gaffering WILL NOT lower the risk of theft cos from the exterior they'll still know it's a camera. Unless they've never seen 1 before. :bsmilie:
