UV filter not much use for this cam, cos no lens cap. What is more useful, but not easy to find, is a Neutral Density filter for shooting on sunny days. But again, no lens cap so need to take care to keep it clean.

Personally I think it is more useful to get a wide angle converter for the HV30. But it could weigh as heavy as the camcorder itself (without the battery) :)

then I should just get a 43mm cap for the filter right?
:dunno:
sorry... total noob on lenses...

anyway, what's the uv filter for?

WA adapter is also very useful. I have a 37mm WA adaptor that I use with a 43-37 stepdown ring. It is very light, because it is so small, but the drawback is that it cannot take any additional filters without vignetting.
