Canon G10

Yes..i think so. You can ask at canon shops or sim lim. You go flickr and type g10 accessories..you can see the teleconverter

did any one get a diffuser for the built in flash for G10 ?

Anyone wants to get this macro lens for the Canon G10? ;p

Just need to get the adaptor to mount on. It's the same adaptor that you can use to mount a wide angle lens or tele convertor lens.

any folks knows any shop here that is selling this casing below?

hey thanks a lot... i'll go down and check out :)

Anyone know if a Canon G7 Lensmate adapter fit on the newer G10/G11 ??

I got the Canon PSC-5200 from Amazon at USD 3.99 (postage was more that the G10 case). I have to say I can't complain at that price. The case feels solid.

for those using the sc-dc60a case, do u face any problem removing the case to change the battery/sd card esp when you are outdoors? TIA

Hey guys, I've in a dilemma what to get for a camera for an amateur photographer myself. I'm very keen to go into the depths of photography (if money permits). My friend advised me not to get DSLR as most people she knows find it troublesome to lug around and ended up using less often. She actually recommended me Lumix LX3 but I didn't like that it does not have a viewfinder.

I've researched quite a bit and was already certain to get a Canon G10. However, I learned that it has been discontinued and the only ones I can get at an affordable price are 2nd hand which most are selling at 600-700. I do not know if it's worth it to get (some with expiring warranty, some with US warranty, NA in Singapore?).

Also, I've read that many complained about the noise at high ISO.

Could you advice me if it's still worth it to get? Please rec others if you have any in mind. TIA!

get the next in line loh... G11.

Yeah. I did ended up considering that although I'm worried about that swivel screen.

I've asked a few shops, and most are selling G11 almost close to 800++. And for that price, I could have gotten myself an entry level DSLR (like Nikon D60?).

So in terms of value-wise, which is more worth it?

to me personally, for sure not worth to pay 600-700 for a used one... canon got a previ purchase program... check out the price there... but 600-700 can get u a brand new sony DSLR... which many ppl says is worth it... even a used one will be much cheaper for a sony... if u stick to your budget, u might wish to consider... cheers...

Get an S90?
It's sharper than G10 for portraits without flash. It's got brighter colors than G10 too (new sensor?)
But it's inferior to G10 in macro mode.
The S90 is less user friendly, it's auto mode bumps to ISO800 - totally uncalled for. I believe the G11 ISO goes to 800 too in AUTO. (G10 bumps to 400 max - the right hing to do). The S90 over sensitive rear exposure ring messes up my pictures quite some.
I "fight" with the S90 exposure most of the time.

You may want to consider Panasonic LX3. It's smart and easy to use - cons are: 2.5x zoom, lens cap, color shift.
But it's easier to use than S90. Plus the battery last longer.
S90 only 200+ shots (only half a day?).
LX3 = 350 shots
G10 = 400+ (I can shoot 2 days at Yosemite Valley and still going).

I had a G10 (sold for $600+), now using S90 and GF1.
The G10 and the GF1 are soooo simple to use.
My wife loves the S90 for it's size.

G10, G11 and LX3 are great for landscape and insect macro at low cost.
S90 - landscape, sharpness, colors and portability (macro sucks). But fight with exposure (good training for photography).
If you like to shoot people portraits - pls get DSLR or M4/3 (you will need the bokeh - background blur)
$680 - can get you brand new S90 or LX3 (comes with new batteries!)
$1000-1150+ can get you Olmpus Pen or GF1 with kit lens (42mm?) - great for portraits and landscape (macro needs other lenses).

Sorry I'm long winded - you see, I am going down this same road like many before me.
:)
