for Canon 580 ExII with 7D or 5DmkII you can take advantage of the controls via cam and make the setup easier.

Slave flash control of EV is possible for Canon but for Nissin you have to set manually on the flash not thur the cam.

If you use 7D you can use TTL wireless with 580 but not Nissin 622.

FYI I use both Nissin n Canon 580. Nissin value for money if you need basic function. 580 u pay for the features and connectivity with your EOS system.

my 2 cents plus change. :D

i see, then TS must have make a mistake.

so 430EX and 430EX II price specification difference?
Don't blame TS la, you equally blur and clueless too... LOL. Anyways, 430EX is discontinued but used to be selling at the same price as 430EXII which you'll need to go to the Price Guide section if you wanna find out. But what's even your budget man... no money no talk one.

So Nissin Di622 actually support Wireless TTL slave?
Currently owner of Nissin Di866 and Sigma DG500 Super. :D
Super support 3rd flash. :bsmilie:

No 622 does not support wireless TTL I think only the 866 does. For wireless TTL I use 580 EXII.

thanks guys for all the info and discussion.

i am now thinking of

1) Nissin di622($210) http://blog.reddotphoto.com.sg/?p=578
2) Tumax DPT386AFZ ($180) http://www.artworkfoto.com/tumax_ttl_flash.html
3) Tumax DSL988 ($105) http://www.artworkfoto.com/tumax_ttl_flash.html

i am really lost and do no know what to choose, what is meant by master and slave.
Can someone tell me which is better for the above 3? I have put the links beside which specification is alien to me.

can anyone answer the above question, need a flash soon.

Do a search around the forum and see if you can find your answer.
I personally use Nissin Di866 and Sigma DG500 Super, so I cannot comment on the above few flashes.

think best bet is using 430EX II, my advice.

Of course 430ex.
Original Canon Flash ensures best compatibility.

3rd party flashes relies on reverse engineering.

thanks soon for the explaination.

how about 270ex and nissin 622, which is better?
can 270ex, 430ex and nissin 622 able to do AF assist beam on other focus point?

I have tested the 2 flashes I have with regards to AF assist beam:
Nissin Di866(Guide no 60 ISO100)
AF assist on all AF points
Sigma DG500 Super (Guide no 50 ISO100)
AF assist only at Centre AF

I am using 350D with 7 AF points. AF assist does not fire from flash on my S5 IS, but AF assist beam from body fires instead.

As for 270ex vs Nissin 622, I will choose Nissin as it provide more features like swiel for portrait.

Go youtube search for Nissin Di622 review, can have better understanding. So far majority i read are positive reviews.

Btw, Nissin Di866 looks so cool and solid, with colored screen like machiam iphone.

Personally i think for normal users, Di622 is very sufficient already. Most important to me is it must be easy to use, save my time. I wouldn't want to waste lots of time during shoots to mingle with the head-scratching menus and end of the day get shitty pictures...

Infact i'm getting 2 sets soon. 1 for me n 1 for my friend. :) Coz i think $210 for a brand new piece, is almost packed with the most necessary.

PS: Die die must add diffuser for softer exposure.
