anyone preparing to ditch off 5D mk II and get mk III ? i wonder how much would it cost when hit spore shores?

Only interested if the AF speed is that of 7D and the camera doesn't hunt at night. Oh well...

how about 100% viewfinder? i think that is imp, and of course more AF points, spot metering on all AF points, IR AF assist, better and faster AF, better hi iso perfermance... and perhaps remote control of flash (forgot the name of the technology.. the one that comes with 7D )

lastly , hope they won't over price it.. ;p

this is the only reason it's stopping me from buying the the 5dmkii.

Bros, don't take these info too seriously. They are just speculations, not proven facts. If people on the internet have to pay a stiff fine for every speculation they put out that turns out to be false, I guarantee you there will be a lot less of these nonsense.

How do they know it's 24mp and not 25, 28, 32, or whatever?
How do they know it will still be Digic 4 and not Digic 5?
How do they know it may be called the 6D? Just because 6D is an unused model designation? Why not 2D, 3D, 8D?

Don't believe me? Dig up old threads of speculations on 60D, and you'll see how ridiculous some of them are.

The 5D MkIII would need dual Digic to process the 24MP files fast enough.

You sure? If one Digic 4 can process 21mp fast enough, I think it, and perhaps a faster Digic 5 can handle 3 more megapixels. In any case, type and number of processors used depend on not only maximum file size but frames per second as well.

If 5D3 has faster AF (+ maybe faster fps too?), then it'd be pretty irresistible! Put in a dual memory slot n some wireless stuffs, then it'd be super duper hot in demand! Wait, I think that'd kill off the 1series :bsmilie:

Me too, waiting for the 5D III end of this year. Hopefully the mark III's AF is around the same as the 7D and a better ISO control. Articulating screen or not, well, it's not important to me though.

Most probably it be in the 3k range for the body ???
