My test shot using the Canon EF-S 55-250mm zoom lens. And here I am with a macro out of it, am I insane or what? Truth be told, I guess I'm still finding my footing with this new lens.I'm still unsatisfied with the results so I shall do some test shots again zoon. The focal length isnt that far seriously so my intention of taking bird photos today was somewhat hindered.

Get L lens...

250mm is just alright but it's not long enough for birding. Although you can always creeped up behind the birds without scaring them off.

But anything below 300mm or even 400mm is just about there only and sometimes it's just not long enough. Yoh can probably testify this more. :)

haha not saying this lens sucks or what, but whats the hype about it? usually, it is best for what type of photos actually?

What you want to do with it? There's no best for what type of photos for whichever lens.

You see nature shooter having a 600mm then next moment you see a sports shooter using the same lens.

Same goes to a macro lens. Some people use it solely for macro but some shoot portraits with it other than macro.

At the end of the day, the numbers in the focal length is how much reach you want and not what is best type of photos for the lens. :)

I am tired....:(

anyone wanna meet at tampines evening time for some TCSS?

lol.. i was in tampines just now. had dinner at T1.

hmm but there's always something a lens excel in like people say the 50mm is good for portraits and low light conditions, and how a wideangle is for landscape, you know that type of thing.

anyways, nvm tomorrow i go out shoot again lol. so ryan, what do you shoot the MOST using this lens or tend to shoot more?

Macro is cool as you are capturing details. Then you should get the 5D MkII. I heard it can bring up the details on those fabrics like the real thing wor. Dunno true or not.

50mm is good for low light due to its large aperture and for the $$.

My 55-250 is for events most of the time but i also use it for close-up, sports (day time) and moon shots.
