btw 11-9 boss, hows your domke bag bag!

glad it suits you! goto find the right owner la. else with me, collect dust only~ :bsmilie:

btw, i also got my "right fit" tripod la. A300EX, though its not so tall, not so heavy (means prob less stable), but good enough for me. kind of felt the ballhead was a bit er small, so got a 486rc2 to replace! everything in good price! managed to bargain. heh.

sad is, with the ballhead now, it can't fit into the benro bag!! :complain:

I dunno is it the information wrong for the max height or what.

Yesterday, I fully extend it with my camera mounted to its most stable position, it seems taller than my Slik one. Haha! :bsmilie:

And yes, it's one strong tripod. Thanks a lot. :)

:bsmilie: hopefully the "incorrect" information was a good thing rather then a bad thing for you ;p

only thing for my A300 now is that its shorter la, i have to extend the middle section at least half way up to meet my eye level~ oh well, its a trade off~

yay now can bring and use for e fireworks shoot!!

Ill br free fri ah.

Havent gone sss yet le.

actually ah, after thinking, u using FF right, your 17mm and my current 10mm (would be 16mm right?) eh. or cannot measure like that?

cuz since at 17mm, you mention its alright, can i assume at my "10-11mm" it'll be alright too? ok. .i'm confusing myself :sweatsm:

CPL Filter 58mm

You don't need a hood for your 50mm.

You want the hood for kit lens, I can sell it to you. Use only 2 times since Dec'08.

$100 should be enough for what you want to get. But depends on which brand of filters you are getting. Most likely, I think only Tokina or Hoya can meet your budget.

Ryan, your hood is which type? I'm looking for petal hood. stylo milo.

hmm, i think i'll go for hoya- any idea how much they cost respectively? I don't wanna get conned like I did at Parisilk hahaha.

get the most expensive hood and the most expensive filters you can afford loh.

Mine is original Canon hood for the kit lens. Eh, petal hoods for 58mm threads are rare. But petal hoods and non-petal hoods for lenses come with some degree of reasons. It might work well or fail terribly.

Dun buy because it look stylo-milo. Having a DSLR is already an attention-grabber, with a nice hood, you ought to get more stares and high chance of getting robbed although Singapore in particular is safe but better be safe than sorry.

Chances of having petal hood for kit lens like 18-55mm is practically zero. It will be very funny to have one since the original round hood is already that small in size.

But theres plenty of 58mm petal hood size at ebay, albeit overseas.
The hood for the kit lens is 58mm right?

anyways, my friend wanna sell me his Sigma (CanonMount) 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO for 190 bucks, take it?

My mum already said cannot get the 55-250 till the price hike simmers down( prolly end of year) , so for now, is this the best alternative?

Those kind of hoods are screwed on hoods, not the typical hoods. 18-55mm kit lens with hood doesn't look any impressive than without it, be it round or petal hood.
