$40 can save up and get a Lambency Flash diffuser - replica of Gary Foong's Lightsphere. Btw, get not 1 but 2 diffuser for $40.

It's believe to be as good as GF and IMO, it's one of the best diffuser. I used it on my flash with a borrowed one from my friend.
