It's just that i don't want to lose out on the range. And i like taking low-light photography without flashes.

if you are taking low-light photograhy without flashes then 17-55mm is your choice....what's there to think?

Almost everything without flash. But with my kit lens, i do know how to play around the settings to get a good photo with out flash.

Because now she'll be hoping that you'll spend that cash on her. Haha.

Try again now bro. It'll make her happy that you pay more attention to her.

Supposed to buy the 55-250 after CNY, but after careful consideration, it can wait. :P

I think i'll buy it after my O levels.

Prices may drop or increase depending on the economy but the fact is, prices are definitely going up already.

Street prices now will run alongside the Yen currency.

What's the brand of your tripod? Btw, why do you buy a tripod without a plate and how much did you pay for it?

Well, I thinking that in the worst case scenario, you might need to get a brand new head which includes plate altogether. It might be costly and also see if your tripod allows you to change.

i have a question...

I was recently at marina barrage with 2 torches and a grp of crazy friends.. we took this picture:

IMG_6561_r_.jpg

how to make the both 'persons' visible and not transparent? they are both the same person, taken in one exposure.. there were many such shots we took that night, but i think this is the most acceptable for now.. all turned out transparent figures..

I was using the EFS17-55mm at F13, shutter in bulb mode, or so i think.. and 2nd curtain flash on the 430EX II...

anyone can help? I was thinking about a black card covering part of the lens when during the 1st 10 secs, then when the subject change postion use the black card to cover the other side...

wow...the transparent guy looks like ghost sia. haa..

Don't get Lenses at I.T shows. The price is way expensive and you can't get to check on the lens. Its so crowded. I didn't save any pictures taken with the 50mm f1.4. Tried it at the camera shop, so couldn't do much of testing, except low light portraits.

GMAN

huh?? the price will be more expensive mah? ya i prefer to go in a shop where there's no other customers so i can take my own sweet time to try and ask questions.

Night shots without tripod bo bian one. Need ISO1600. Strobists are basically photographers who love to use their strobes aka flashes to add elements to their pictures - in this case, the use of light. And to use flash correctly, perhaps, IMO, one need to understand how lighting works.

I am still learning. I only got about 1 month more to my first wedding shoot. By hook or by crook, I need to master the art. Haha! Luckily, I am shadowing in mid-Feb as a 2nd photographer to learn and practice.

good luck man. so fast going to shoot wedding shots like. wait...how long had you started playing with your 450d?

man...my new baby quite heavy lor...even though F4 nia...but after a few hrs holding it...sweat ah...heng, nvr get the F2.8 IS....:)

and your baby is..??

yup when i was shooting the Chingay, i found my kit lens 55mm limited. but when they come closer, i have to zoom out. but problem is, even if its 105mm, i don't think the flash can reach that far also.

for bright conditions however, it'll be fun to zoom in all the way to capture the action. awesome!
