Hello All,

I'm new to this wonderful forum and have a great interest in photography.
Nevertheless, i am a newbie in DSLR and is considering to get a DSLR soon.

I've got a few questions to ask about Canon EOS 1000D.
The model which i've been reading about.

With EOS 1000D, will i be able to shoot good pictures of:

1) People / Group Pictures
2) Nature / Landscape
3) Fireworks / Night Landscapes
4) Idols in Indoor Concerts

May i also now the price of EOS 1000D in Singapore?

Thanks in advance for your reply! :)

Welcome to the forum!

That's a very vague question you're asking.. The 1000D is definately very capable of delivering good pictures, of cos with a certain limitation when compared to the higher end models.. The camera body is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many other factors that affect the quality of a picture.. the lens you attach, your camera settings, compentacy of the photographer etc..

Should be about slightly more than 1K I think.. other CS users prob can give you a more detailed answer about its price..

Just got mine from John @ $1355 => 18-11mm kit, 55-250mm IS, 4GB, bag

Got it from John 3:16, Funan Ctr

New with dSLR so a disclaimer is in order, the outcome of the photo is not a reflection of the quality of the camera ;)

My photo here. Both taken with 55-250 mm

Hi bro,

without the 55 - 200 how much did you get qouted for?

The 55-250 goes for S$360, so take that price off and you get S$995 at John 3:16.

May i ask, the 55- 250 is it a higher grade equipment?
If we get it at 995$ is a a full set which includes the body and the lense thingy?

Alan photo selling for $950 (w/ gst)
Saw last wk at HN selling for $1099 - 8% - 8% only with capitaland card, but think it ended liao, not sure.

Erm, suggest you do a little reading up on SLR system and focal lengths. The 55-250 is a long lens, intended and used for subjects that are generally further away.

A kit set includes the camera body, and a standard zoom lens (which is good enough for starting off). In the EOS 1000D's case, I believe you are also getting a 4GB SD card as a free gift (not sure what else though, because it varies from time to time).

Ok, thanks a lot for your reply! :)

It's a capable budget camera that can do all of the above subjected to the photgrapher and lenses. Kit retail street price should be around SGD$999.
