Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM

Hope to see sample images soon! Want to know how it looks when shooting at night.

Any updates of local availability?

I think I saw pics of it at SLR Revolution's facebook page

I bought mine at Alan Photo in Sim Lim (Alan in Funan no stock).
But the price are different:
- SLR R: 190 (no stock)
- Alan: 220 (last set in Sim Lim, not sure they restocked or not)
- Other shops (no stock): ~ 200

Very good len in term of sharpness and focal length, and especially the price.

Able to post some shots using this lens?

The EF-S 24mm STM is about the same size as the EF 40mm STM. Of course, we know that EF-S lenses fit Canon APSC cameras only whereas EF lenses fit both full-frame and APSC cameras. Also, this lens, like the 40mm, has no image stabilisation, only auto-focus. (The thread title is incorrect.) Here are some photos; due to the rainy days, I haven't been able to take outdoor shots yet. Overall, it is what I anticipated from this low-cost lens. The convenience of size, weight, cuteness and usability are my considerations for buying it. I like STM lenses for their affordability and at S$190, it is within my budget.

#2 - Size comparison of the small lenses: 24STM, 40STM & 50mm. The 50mm is double the height of the other two. Taken with iPhone 6.

#3 - The focus is on the bear's nose. ISO 800, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/800. Lightly tweaked with iPhoto to brighten & sharpen a bit. Taken with 24mm STM.

--- Edited ---

I've deleted #4 posted earlier and replaced it with this one (a different bear) and to stop it down to f/4 from f/2.8 for a better comparison with #3. Also, both #3 and #4 were taken in RAW and converted to JPG with iPhoto.

$UniBear3.jpg
#4 Replacement - The focus is on the bear's right eye. ISO 800, 24mm, f/4, 1/500. Lightly tweaked with iPhoto to brighten & sharpen a bit. Taken with 24mm STM.

Thanks Mod for the Thread Title correction.

I had three hours in between sending and picking someone somewhere; thus, the opportunity to head for a first field trip. All of the photos were taken in RAW, converted to JPG after light post processing with Canon's DPP software. It was drizzling throughout, occasionally becoming light rain from twilight/dusk to nightfall. With the drizzle, the general lighting condition was not optimum. In one of the photos, a lady was also taking photos of the lighted frames; I wonder if she was a Clubsnap member. Judge for yourself whether you would consider this 24mm STM pancake lens a good one to have.

#4 Mushroom Tent at GBTB. I haven't taken a photo of this place since my 550D days some four years ago.
Did you notice there was a "ghostly couple" image inside the tent (due to the longer exposure

May I know where you managed to get it at $190? Does it come with local warranty?

From Cathay Photo Marina Square. 15 month warranty when registered online with Canon.

Ah.. Out of stock at many places. Price too attractive, most might just get it without hesitation.

Is this lens readily available from local shops already?

In very limited quantities. Call Canon and they will get the shop that has the stock to call you. Got mine last week from M S Color
