if you dont mind a grey set, you will still save some $ but you must weigh your opportunity costs too. warranty wise, i feel it's good to have it. you never know when the lens may need some servicing or calibration.

If buying at BnS is there a way to extend warranty?

not sure though but you can check out DD electronics, they offer grey set too at very competitive prices but comes with shop warranty~

where to find the periperal illumination correction? sounds so cheam :confused:thanks !
turn on peripheral illumination correction (if your camera body has it) to reduce the vignetting. if you suspect your Hoya filter contributes to your vignetting, try also shooting without the filter and see if the vignetting is reduced.

Check the manual is usually the best policy. Anyway, For 7D, it is on page 76 of the manual on how to set peripheral illumination correction. On the 7D, the default is "enabled".

oh its turn on already. so how ?

Leave the filter on ? sometimes have sometimes dun hv during night shots ?

at wide angle and or wide opened, the lens will sure have some degree of vignetting one la with or without filter, just keep the periperal illumination correction enabled and keep shooting. seriously, this is nothing much to fret about and vignetting is correctable via post-processing anyway.
