care to share any reason why you shot some of the pictures at much lower speed? like 1/10/ and 1/13? was it because you want a low ISO setting?

IS allows slower shutter speed which allows u to use lower ISO. Great for non moving subjects

yep. low iso. I'll go to an iso as low as possible that my target shutter speed can offer. noise is more easily detectable in dark pictures so I take extra care to go low on iso.

I found my slowest to be 1/8 to 1/13. I let the auto iso pick what's good for that scene. usually it'll be on the lower end so it's good for low noise.

I tried 1/4 on shutter but the images end up pretty bad...

I'm in UK now and have taken about 2500 pics with this lens.. This is by far the sharpest canon lens I have ever used. Will post some pics when I get back. I'm thoroughly impressed by this and the 5d3.

I agree. Sigma's model seems even more tempting at only $1100-1200!

this lens is very good, i test it a couple of time~ but owning the 35mm f2.0 non-IS, i dun feel like changing.

Depends on user... kcl211 seems to be getting pretty sharp photos out of his lens... this lens is supposedly very sharp... any problem should be user error...
