i am a wedding actual day photographer currently using 16-35 f2.8 mark 2, but then sometimes i find my edges abit sucky/soft so I am constantly shooting at f5.6 everytime at a wedding so that the picture is usable. Just wondering if switch into the f4 would be a better choice?

I would say the f4 is sharp edge to edge. Whether it serves your needs as a wedding photographer is hard to tell. But I agree the 2.8II is very mushy and soft at the edges, even at f/8-11.
