one of my three muskeeter lens (15 50 135)
love it so much... still sharp and fast AF even in low light...

Can this lens do good macro work with extension tubes? Also if it's tack sharp at F/2, would it be so after adding a 2X extender, which would yield 270 F/4? Any experience on these?

yes, its tack sharp in f/2.0 ...
i havent tried my self, but many review said its still sharp using the TC 1.4x and 2x, ofcourse there will be image quality degradation, but still acceptable...
using ET.. dunno havent try.. but using closeup filter can do good macro...

I've tried it with a 25mm extension tube before. No, it's not very useful for macros even with that. At least probably for shooting flowers and stuff but definately not bugs. And yes, it really is tack sharp at F2. :thumbsup:

With the 1.4x @189mm, its almost as good as the 200/2.8 prime.

With the 2x @ 270mm, it tends to be a little soft (as with most lens with the 2x).
