Of course, all canon dslr, less 1 series, has the option to purchase with kit lens.

Actually, I'm looking for a wide angle lens for 7D. Any lens to recommend? What about the Tamrom 17-50mm, Canon 50mm?

There is a considerably "wide" angle kit lens that is bundled with the 7D which is the 15-85mm IS. I've not heard much rave reviews (prolly because there arent many! :)) but if you wanna compare wideness, it IS wider than the Tamron that you are referring to.

The tamron however, has an aperture of 2.8. But if you compare the number of stops that IS can help you, it can even come to the same thing as f2.8. But lets not get too carried away with the technicalities and forget the very essence of photography which is of course, taking photos. ;)

If you wanna go wide, go to the extreme and try the 10-22, and you'll never look back! :)

Yup... 10-22 is very good.

I think I'll take your advise and go for 10-22mm. Now need to do a search for the reviews and prices for this lens.

Thanks mate. U the best....;)

No worries Spaniard.:) I'm still waiting for the day i get my hands on the 7D.

You might want to consider this setup: 10-22 + 24-105L ;) Its a "goodenuf" setup for landscapes, vacation, etc. If you wanna do portraits along the way, you may want to throw in a 50 1.8.

Should you find the canon 10-22 a bit too pricey, (i noe i did!) you can consider the sigma 10-20. its about $400 cheaper (2nd hand) but you do need to check and test for a sharp copy.

There are also some other UWA or ultra wides in the market such as the Tokina 11-16 f2.8, 12-24 and the tamron 11-18. Some might say that 1mm wont make much a difference, but if you wanna go wide, and punchy, dramatic pictures, might as well go all the way to 10mm! :) Ultrawides will change how you shoot.

Hope this helps, and all the best.

Wow.I'm overwhelmed suddenly. Thanks for the valuable info on all these lens. I know the Canon 10-22 is expensive. I don't mind a 2nd hand Canon or even a Sigma lens. Actually, I was also looking at the same setup you mentioned. :D

For now just take pics using my 17-85 lens and see how it's goes from there. Will get the ultra wide or wide lens first.

Once again, thanks mate...
