Truthfully........... I really don't see anything wrong with these pics on portriat shooting! The pics are sharp and looks good! Unless the more pro people feels otherwise! So what's going on with the "technical problems"?

Wow... all these are nice pics from 70-300mm IS!  OK. DECIDED! I'll get one pretty soon... just that AP now no stock......

It is only let down by its built. Between this and the 70-200 f/4L),
Ok genekwek,if u want to get this IS lens, check n test properly. To see the diff between both lens, here are some sample shot taken using my 70-200 f4 with 5D handheld no flash.all shot at wide open(f4)

Does anyone know when is 75-300mm was made available? 1995? How about 70-30mm?

Hi,NightZ88,yes the pics are edited with small amount of contrast n sharpness. With Canon 5D,u can get nice BG......i think

Ever considered the 70-200 IS L ?

Well, since I've made up my mind to buy 70mm-300mm lens.... but everywhere is selling the ones with technical faults! Well.... guess have to wait for new batches to arrive then. Otherwise get the fault one, still need to bring to CSC for service.... troublesome....

Yes genekwek,go and get 70-300 IS,a very good lens.I have 70-200f4 n 300 IS, but still bought 70-300 IS due to extra 100mm for travelling and candid shot....hope u get a good copy..enjoy

Hey comb,

How come no sample of Japanese model one? Can provide a few so that we do a closer "examination" on the image quality ... hahaha (just kidding). Btw, I noticed that you are using FF. Did it "magnify" any problems or faults on the 70-300? Thks

Hi kenrai, sorry no Japanese model:think: but only factory machine pics:o
(Did it "magnify" any problems or faults on the 70-300?) Never notice it,maybe i can check......

the vertical shots are less sharp, look at the "4" in the clock(?). this is @ 100% though, so it's bone picking. :)

cheers!

I think the "4" in the clock is "dusty". The horizontal shot has the same image of the "4". Rite? I dunno, I'm not a pro, so I guess I couldn't pick up the difference! :)

Ok,for the vertical n horizontal shot, what i notice that there is a very small diff of sharpness. It only happen at 300mm.But very small amount as what u c on the pics.As "4", i shooting at angle on both pics handheld(focus at the centre of clock hand),.I never do any proper test for this issue. As for my lens,i can live with it cos it minimal prblm.
Anyone of u have any serious vertical shot prblm with this lens to share...:o

Try doing a non-resized crop from your images to see the sharpness, but as again, sharpness varies from person to person.

Finally, today, I got my first IS Lens. 70-300mm IS! Feels good man.... nice! No regrets....
