There is no such thing as sealed box from Canon. All you can do is to take note of signs when the box is open. All the stuff inside should be exactly in the right place. The plastic bags should not be crumbled up. If you are getting the kit with 24-100, look at the plastic wrapper of the lens. It should look new with no crumbled marks. Another sign of whether the lens has been tested is to look at the AF/MF switch. It should be on MF (of course, the store can put this back to MF but I doubt they will bother).

If you insist on zero shutter count, bring your laptop installed with the shutter count software and that will tell you whether the camera has been tested or not. Don't believe the story about Canon doing QC with test shutter count. Canon reset the shutter count before it roll out of the factory floor so everyone will have a zero shutter count.

i see those 450D, 1000D, 40D or 50D's Box isn't sealed. So High End Model of Canon is sealed???

as getting the body soon, anything i gotta watch out? ask for two bodies and test with own CF card? and what else?

In case you misunderstood me, 1 series box is also not sealed.

FYI, MS told me I can bring back, test it & within 1-2 days ( & before register for warrenty) , they can do 1 to 1 exchange if found any back-focus problem, etc. .. so I trusted them and did not do any test at the shop.. just paid and go ..
Luckily mine is ok .. after testing over the weekend ..

I like the assurance given by MS ..
