Cheh... I thought it's cos of the excitement.. Haha...

for me look okay.

Yup the cat photos looks fine to me too. Enjoy your 50L :)

Looks sharp to me as well!

hmm.. maybe I am overreacting :S

were the shots done on tripod?

nope - and I think you are suspecting it may be handshake? I was thinking about it too.. but I shot it at 1/90s, I guess it should be all right, my hand shouldn't be that shaky.. Maybe I should shoot on tripod with shutter release and see.

Yeah seems to have some improvement on tripod. Have to practice marksmanship skills liao bro!

Not sure if it is common knowledge but I feel that what we learned in the army about the proper shooting techniques does help me in my photography. Especially the breathing part.. :)

Why you sigh? At least now you have peace of mind and you saved yourself two trips to CSC!

HAHAHA yeah I remember them. The recommended holding posture/position of the cam is similar to holding the M16 - tuck in close to you. Take a breath, fire the bullet, and release your breath! :bsmilie:

yup. but one problem still persist - my damn shaky hand. I would have preferred it to be a fixable problem @ CSC than my shaky hand ;p
shaky hands more difficult to fix, and it always occur somehow, somewhat ;p

nvm.. I shall practice more on holding techniques!

I'm not suspecting hand shake, more on shifting out of the focal plane.

Hmm have not tried that yet, but as per reviews and from friends, yeah 50L is not that sharp wide open, but when stopped down is good. I did a shot at f/5.6, today, crisp sharp.

Not too sure about the stock in Japanese stores after announcement but best not to buy there. I find that Japan prices is more expensive than ours in general and couple that with the strong Yen and it is a double whammy. Just something for u to take note bro. Have fun there!
