Ya, I saw it also, by the way, cr3 means 70% sure? If I am not wrong? Like cr1 is 20% sure?

Here are the CR definitions:

CR0: A bad or joke rumour
CR1: Plausible rumour from a new source
CR2: A good rumour from a known source
CR3: Treat this rumour as fact
 

As seen from DPR. *** Warning **** Treat this information with a grain of salt:

By now, many of you have already seen the leaked photos of the next 5D. By carefully studying the photo, it's possible to deduce that it will have a sensor with approximately 38 megapixels.

Here is what I did:

  • I corrected the perspective distortion of the leaked photo above

  • I scaled the photo so the LCD screen regains its original 3:2 aspect ratio (see below)

  • Notice the icon for the magnifying glass is now circular, confirming that my corrections are good

  • I assume that the LCD has 720x480 resolution, just like the latest Canon LCD screens

  • I deduce that the full image dimensions are about 7500 x 5000 pixels

  • The new 5D will likely have approximately 38 Megapixels, or something close to it.

  • It will DEFINITELY NOT be 18 MP or 22 MP. That would mean the LCD zooms closer than 1:1 pixel magnification, which is highly unlikely and stupid.

  • And yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

So many rumors specs..........

I will be happy with a 100% VF (this become a default requirement for me after using 7D)
Better AF, close to 7D......
LCD Grid lines.....
Wireless command for flashes.......
ISO performance.....
DR improvement........
No. of MP not so important to me....
As lowly priced as possible....

Haha...... this will do for me... only dunno when I can buy it......... Mc Air meal everyday??? :(
 

No idea. But I wouldn't be too surprised if it was real. Was hoping for something with a better framerate though. But will have to see the rest of the specs to be sure. Ideally, they have improved the dynamic range above all else. A little bumming up the ISO to a 'useable' 25.6k would be good too. Or at least a "clean" ISO 6400.

Thanks for the definitions. Alright, but 5d3 won't be a 38mp cam, if so, canon is out of their mind. (I just feel like that, don't start the war with Nikon pls. No pt.)

The latest word on the street is that the new 5D Mk3/X will come with the Canon 1D MkIV's 45 point AF. I think I can live with that!

Also the 580 Speedlite is to be replaced by a new one with radio control that can trigger other flashes and cameras.

Just hope the new speedllite is able to control the old flash using infra.. :think:
 

BUSTED?
Simonxu11 on our forum busted this one pretty quickly. It appears at least one of these spec lists appeared last May on Camera Gear Guide.

The split in the line is still something that has come from a few places. The most common resolution numbers for each camera are 22mp and 34mp. Again, everyone is pointing to two full frame cameras under the 1D X.

New Specs?
The following specs have shown up on a Chinese web store. How factual it is, I am unsure. Some of the specs I’ve seen, others I haven’t. However, if there’s a split of the 5D line, and all signs point that way, some specs may be getting mashed across each model. More about the split in a bit.

5D Mark III (source)
26.4mp
19 AF Points
4.9fps
DIGIC V
Wireless Flash Operation

5D X (source)
45mp
61 AF points
DIGIC 5+ & DIGIC 4

The above are some of the *BUSTED* (Those in RED are wrong) spec of the new camera... that's mean they know the REAL specs but due to NDA, they are not talking yet.... and I think some could be disappointed that theses are not found in the new FF body.....

When I first saw the specs from the Chinese site, I didn't know what to make of them. I'm kind of glad that they are fake. I prefer the specs that were posted some time ago as follows:


  • 5D X
    • 45MP (With a pixel size similar to the power shot G1X)
    • 61 points AF (Similar to the 1DX but simpler)
    • 3.4 fps, 100-6400 (50-12800)
    • 1 Digic 5+ Digic 4
  • 5D mk III
    • 22MP
    • 61 points AF (Similar to the 1DX but but simpler)
      6.9 fps,       ISO 100-25600(50-51200)
    • 1 Digic 5+ Digic 4
    • Best HD video quality of any EOS camera
Hopefully the 'real' specs will be close to these. If Canon does come out with these, they'll sell like there's no tomorrow! I hope that they announce both these cameras on the same day. I would not like one announced on the 28th and the other announced in August.

8 days to the 28 Feb......

Personally, am not waiting for a body, but hopefully they announce the flash with the body........ :)

Though I am anxious to see which path Canon take.... I think it is a significant one... if not, they would not wait for so long......

Hope you get your flash halfmoon. I'm sure that it will come close to the Nikon specs or exceed.
