Any idea can they do 0% installment? How about Canon's own extended warranty? I feel like buying from Comex due to the extended warranty option. But I don't feel like paying the extra $200 just for that 80GB HDD and 1 extra pc of 2GB CF card.

JK

You can get more then 80GB with $200 from Sim Lim. Extended warrant can apply at Canon harbor front.

30 litres dry cabinet is too small. will run out of space very fast. :)

Believe that if you are to pay by 0% installment, the shop will be charging you perhaps 3 - 7% on top of the S$1899. Assuming we take the middle ground at 5%, that translates to S$1994, about $105 short of the SRP.

Perhaps you may want to think of the additional $105 as payment for the 80GB External HDD and the additional 2GB CF card. That's not a bad deal, IMHO. :sweatsm:

Now, If one can get the 40D at $1899 through 0% installment, that's definitely a steal . Let me know which shop so I can rush down and get one for myself as well. :D

:Later,

Just checked with MS Color, if you pay via 0% CC installment, you got to pay another 3% extra. That works out to be $1956, meaning you're actually paying $143 for the 80GB portable HDD and the 2G Sandisk Ultra II CF.

Got my 40D at COMEX yesterday. Paid @ 2099 using CC at 12 months installment at 0% interest. Got a Motorola DECT phone freebie since payment was done using OCBC CC.

They ran out of 80GB and offered a battery as replacement instead. Was informed by Canon that one can opt for a $90 refund/rebate instead but didn't opt for it (troublesome liao, have to cancel the mastercard transaction then charge again.. can take as much as 3 weeks to unblock the cancelled transaction). Update: Just found that the Canon staff gave me a different battery liao: BP-2L5  Darn guy must've been confused. :nono: Oh well.. gonna waste a trip just to have the mistake corrected.

Not a bad deal, I say. :)

Hey, me too! But I opted for the $90 rebate so in the end the CF card cost $53 as compared to MS Color. Oh well, at least I get to fondle it immediately! Signed up for the extended warranty and now I ended up with an extra 50mm f/1.8 II ( hint, who wants to buy can go B&S or just PM me :P )

I have tons of BP-511s (ok, 4 of them, including the one that comes with new cam will be 5) so have no need for anymore :D. Reliable 3rd party ones cost about $25-$30 from EastGear anyway.

For EOS 40D, the extended warranty cost S$250...you can choose not to extend it now...but you need to decide before the 1 year original warannty expired. but if u extend it before 9 sept, u can get the 50mm for free..
