Canon 15-60 f2.8 IS ? canon rumors!

oo a new lens to overthrow the king? hahaha 17-55 has new competition :o but anybody heard of the iq with this new lens?

It is not even confirmed that it exists how to tell its iq lol...

Again canon might not update too many lens at one go as it might hurt sales and maintain new products every year or so.

Sounds like an interesting lens but there are so many other lenses that need updating more so than the 17-55 (which is already an excellent lens).

Two quick examples would be the 24-70L. The update has been rumoured since the time of Noah and still no "IS"? And how about the venerable 100-400L. How long has this update been rumoured? Back in the days of Moses when push-pull technology was common there was no issue. But now that we have replaced that technology with "rotating lenses", there is no longer any place in post-modern society for push-pull.

Come on Canon, let's get into the New Testament times and update some of the older lenses!

24-70 without IS is already close to 1kg... adding IS means more weight:(

Man, you guys read canonrumors? No one should believe in this nonsensical website, unless you want to feel good and fantasize what Canon should possibly offer.

Many times the rumours are not accurate. For eg, I don't know how many times it has said the 24-70 IS will be released. Since 2006? Like as if it was so convincing. It even stated someone in Europe was seen carrying a version of it. In the end, it's all trash....

Or remember once there was the Canon EOS 3D or 4D or... whatever that was slated to be released? Pure trash too.

I would be very tempted IF this lens is real:think:

Currently Canon seems to be devoting its resources into revamping its lineup of Big Whites...

I wish Canon can make it a EF lens for the FF users as well. Restricting it to EF-S is not 'friendly". For FF users we have only 16-35 and 17-40 to choice from. It most unfortunately that the 17-55mm f2.8 can't be used on FF cameras. I wish "someone" can design an adapter for the 17-55mm lens to be used on 5D Mk II cameras, just like Tamron lens.

I thought EF-S lenses can't be mounted on full frame because they r designed for the short back-focus of APS-C. On a FF, the mirror would hit the lens. 17-55 on APS-C has a somewhat equivalent 24-70L on FF. No IS, but got red ring ;-)
