So is this better than the D60? In terms of value and feature. Seems like 7 point AF and faster AF being the most touted improvement (which some of us can live without).

Cheers,
These are not important to me at all.

I don't shoot rapid moving objects nor do I shoot in low light often and most of the time I find that the AF speed is very much dependent on the lens used.

Also, I don't shoot at ISO higher than 400; and the 3-point AF of the D60 is already 2 points too many for me as I use the centre AF point for shooting all the time.

What's more, I shoot in RAW format and uses a custom D60 ICC profile during conversion, so all those additional color spaces are useless to my workflow.:)

To me the answer is yes. The only thing I want badly from the D60 is AF as I shoot moving subject most of the time. But once again, I can also live without or work around it. Anyway this is just a hobby. Not worthwhile to keep upgrading.

dun worry
u'll get to keep the grip after upgrading, hehe
:D

Can keep the spare batteries too. Also better keep the 2-battery charger and the AC adapter for sensor cleaning since the 10D now only comes with a small (cheaper to manufacture?) charger and the AC adapter is now optional. :(

hmm...prefer the 2 batteries charger...cos battery grip using 2 batteries....anyone want to swap the 2-batteries charger for the single battery charger? good for travelling :D

do u know u can put the camera in bulb mode (preferably with the help of the Canon remote cable release instead of holding down the shutter button with your finger) and clean the CMOS? ;)

i do that last time. as long as the camera is in bulb mode, the mirror stays up, allowing u to clean the sensor. Best done when camera is mounted on tripod.......and battery is full.

hence u dun need the AC adapter.

Read somewhere that's not recommended, as when you do so, the CCD/CMOS is actually powered up and the charges generated can attract dust as well. The CCD cleaning mode of DSLRs (where supported) does not power up the sensor.

Has Ordered my EOS 10D from a canon corporate dealer the one that I bought the 1Ds from.As they are unable to give me the price but they should be good as I paid for 1Ds few hundred $$ less than CP quoted me.:)
