can you survive without VR?

I've tried on both, the AF D lense is fast, the AF-S G lense is even faster. And I am trying it on a D100, if on F5 or F100... :dunno: even faster? :bigeyes:

I would rather suggest people to consider whether they need such a higher speed;AF-S built-in Silent Wave Motor IF or VR by paying such a high price(Double the $$$). Do most of people really need such higher focusing speed that often? If anything goes wrong and the Lenes VR motor break down, servicing will be quite costly. :think:

As for resolution wise, I think as long as it is ED glass elements,a VR, AF-S IF and normal D lenes should be more or less the same in term of producing high-resolution and high-contrast image. :thumbsup:
