Can E300 be "reset" its shutter count?

People overseas already discussing how many people have replaced their E300 shutter. sigh, here in singapore we are discussing whether we can replaced E300 shutter.

How can the oly singapore say such things?

wind30, that is why i am piss with oly spore service ctr...i have an email from jpn quoted NR will effect from 2sec or longer for E500. thus i requested them to test to cfm cos mind only work from 4s onward...hey i just ask them to re-cfm the claim n see if i need to repair but not even a call from them for almost 2.5mths. dun even call me to collect my CD n hardcopy of email.;(

they wanted to charge me for replacement of CCD if i am unable to accept the NR issue but according to jpn, not an CCD issue AT ALL. ...what technical knowledge toking about here???

oly spore has a real good marketing dept frankly...i receive call from Keith after i attended one of their E-knowledge outing for feedback...:thumbsup:

perhaps it is a genuine mistake on the part of 1 of their tech staff...

But sad to say, everything and anything that any of the staff does will of course reflect upon the service centre as a whole...

This is about shutter replacement, dun tell me they never change shutter b4..... just sound like oly Singapore too lazy to get parts for the old E300 so just anyhow say E300 cannot change shutter.

He he,, should have read your post before sending in. Yup, it was a lens contact problem. They just wipe the body contact area ring and that solves the problem. Solve in mins. And also I ask them about the shutter life span for E300. They said no such count limit. The camera basically will die due to wear and tear. And when i ask if i can replace my shutter, they said E300 cannot be replace. Only E330 can.

Just in...Olympus Malaysia says the E-300's shutter can be replaced. The cost of the shutter is RM358.00. This does not include the service charge and/or maybe other required parts.

Customers should not hesitate to bring to Olympus attention should any lapse occur in its customer service operations.

Don't think they are like that. Go ahead and send the camera in. It's better than coming all the way into Malaysia to send it in and then having to come all the way back to collect it.

Yeah, "look at it first"...dangerous words...S$150 for the shutter kit + S$160 for the oil + S$200 for the workmanship...then you still need to add another S$300 for the buffer...:sweat:
