Hi

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent memory card reader that is not overly priced. I was told the Kingston US 15 in 1 and 19 in 1 were both good and reliable, only problem is...it is nearly impossible to find here in Singapore. I even checked with the Kingston distributors here and they don't have it or recommend where to get it. So I am looking into other brands. Basically, as long as it is reliable and can take the majority standard of cards, SD, CF, SDHC..this kind.....

Would appreciate anyone's help!!!

Thanks heaps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try looking at Popular Bookstore. They have some really affordable ones

Both Lexar and SanDisk have card readers but usually not the 15 in 1 type. More like CF and SD/SDHC 2 in 1. The transfer rate is good enough for me. You should be able to get them in SLS or Funan.

just go to sim lim sq and find.
i got mine from sim lim, i think the brand is "A1" or something. less than $15 oni. So far so gd. USB 2.0. If u don't need those very high speed and extremely reliable ones, i think those generic brand ones will work just fine.

I have this one too... it's fast for a USB reader.

If you have FireWire 800, both the SanDisk and the Lexar ones are great.

so very curious about this....there's comments about those cheapo combo brands and all this sandisk/lexar/kingston brands which are more expensive. Is the transfer really that much faster compared to the cheaper ones?

Wow.. thanks for your help people!! The shop behind bizgram, is it best bargain??? I did try there, but they also dont have that kingston one in stock. Maybe I will just have to settle for the generic kind....Will try SLS again and maybe go through all the shops!!! haha...

Thanks!

If you can wait, go order one from Germany.

I wrote a thread about it - so do a search under my name.

Really fast (I get almost 40MB/s on my Extreme IV), and really cheap (~$16 with shipping).
