Camera stuffs in Shanghai

Hi all, I'll be going to Shanghai next week. I would like to get accessories for my Canon 400D such as a monopod, flash diffusers and other gadgety stuffs. Does anyone know if it's cheaper there? Which shop to get them? Any other stuffs that is worth getting there?

I'm currently here in Shanghai... a good place for you to get photography accessories from is Xingguang... Address as follows:

I am now in Shanghai too. I just visited the Xing Guang She Ying Photo Mall at Lu Ban road. It's a great place for photo buffs. There are abt 5-6 floors of shops selling all kinds of stuff, from cameras to studio equipment to film to accessories like tripods etc.

The prices are definitely cheaper than Singapore.

For reference:
Canon 40D body - RMB 8,100 (ie. about S$1,650)
Canon 5D body - RMB 16,500 (ie. abt S$3,370)
Canon 1D Mk III - RMB 32,000 (ie. abt S$6,530)
Canon Ixus 860IS - RMB 2900 (ie. abt S$590)
Canon G9 - RMB 4200 (ie. abt $860)

Only thing is it's not for people who cant live with the fact that the warranty only covers within China.

i'll be getting small things that won't require warranty. i'll be staying at Chang An Road, Shanghai. is this place far from Shanghai Xingguang Photo Gear Mall? how can i get there? preferably by train or subway.

Not sure where is Chang An Rd. Just take a cab. It's very cheap here.

I didnt ask for Nikon / Sigma products specifically but it looks like every brand is cheaper... cos I enquired abt Sony products.

I believe ur xingguang photo gear mall is what they call 星光摄影器材城 here. correct? The whole mall is like SIM LIM SQUARE where all the shops are individual shops and so there are really no fixed opening and closing hours. I think the safest time is between 1100 - 1800hrs. hope this help.

You can enquire if the Orient Photo guys, they have 2 shops in Shanghai as of my last conversation with them perhaps a month back.
