Occasionally I see photographers using their right elbows and shoulders to hold the camera strap while taking a picture. I understand this helps to steady the camera?

Can someone describe the technique, preferably with some pictures to illustrate? When I try it, the strap keeps sliding down. I generally use my camera strap the tourist way (round my neck), but sometimes must try to look a bit more professional, lah.

Thanks!

The Original Canon Camera Strap for D30 SUCKS big time.

I bought a OP/TECH USA Strap to replace it.

that's remind me of something...

last time my instructor taught me how to tie the rifle sling to the shoulder and use it for support, but i dun think that applies to camera cos the shape is quite different

Hi, I find the original strap quite acceptable for me.
Can you tell what's wrong with it?

Also I would like to know what advantages the OP/TECH strap has, and how much it cost you.

Thanks.

Also, can anyone answer my original question?
