Camera shops in HK

HK shops traditionally closed shops for the first 3 days of Chinese New Year (3 days public holidays in HK). Some shops will even take the opportunity to close for a longer period. You will have to check with each one to find out whether they are open or not.

I'd reckon so too..... guess that's the best thing to do, i.e. email them for details.

Thanks !

In case there are any 4/3 users reading here, please note that Man Shing etc do not sell Oly dSLRs any more. They will sell only the PEN kits. DC Fever also does not trade in Oly. Broadway and Tin Cheung do but the prices are relatively high (tho still cheaper than Singapore).

I am in Hong Kong shopping for E620 body only to upgrade and managed to secure it from a shop in Sim City (Mongkok, 47-51 Shan Tung Street) -DC Power Camera Company on the 2nd floor. They have 2 outlets there, but both have same boss so the prices are similar. I got the body for HK$4040 credit card price inclusive of 4GB flash card, original case, screen protector, 1 year int'l warranty and 1 spare battery (plus all the usual bits and pieces; charger etc). I've been using it today and am very happy with the image stabilization and live view mode (upgrading from E500). :)

There are not many Oly dealers in HK so don't bother running round the whole city - 95% only sell Canon/Nikon.:nono:

Didn't know Oly camera bodies provide international warranty. Does this applies to all Oly bodies? How about lenses and flash guns?

Hello, International Warranty info on Oly cameras can be found on the Olympus Asia webpage. I will try to post the URL below if this forum allows. Basically Oly offers global coverage on their camera bodies and accessories. I think this extends to lenses since I remember getting a warranty when I bought a zoom in Japan 2 years ago. From the site tho' it looks like it depends on the dealer so check if they offer a warranty when you buy the lens.
