* Avoid camera stores in Nathan Road, they give you good prices but when you ask for the unit they only show you the model unit and claim that its the last unit.. when in doubt look for the Hongkong tourism logo seal.. at least that will assure you that they are tourist friendly and you will definitely get good quality and service.

thanks bros

Which shop in Hong Kong is the Singapore's Cathay Equivalent? Tin Cheung?

Any idea what is the price of AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II in Hongkong?

Try to pay in Cash to avoid the 3% Credit Card surcharge.

Went there in 2008. Wing Shing was cheaper than Tin Cheung when I visited them.

Got better price on filter in Tin Cheung than Wing Shing. That was also in 2008.

Just came back from HKG.
1. LPE6 cheaper (HKG 580) at Wing Shing
2. Tripods seem cheaper (got a Induro Carbon 8x + head) from Tin Cheung
3. Filters cheaper at Wing Shing but Tin Cheung seems to only sell the higher range of filters.
Hard to compare.
4. For accessories (strap, filter pockets, bags, etc ...) DC Fever seems cheapest but limited
range. Opens from 12 pm.

Did not check on prices for lenses & flashes, but I also got a 17-55 & a 580 exII from Tin Cheung .. in any case, cheaper than in Singapore.

hey.. care to share how much did you pay for your 580EX II? I am currently in Thailand and they are offering about 13200THB and 16900THB at 2 different shops..

what is the standard warranty for flashes?

Hi,

Just to share my experience with the Echo & Audio photo shop, just beware of them as they are not as reliable as what the forum had indicated. as i had wanted to buy a canon wide lens and apporached them, they did quoted me a lower price than other shops but told me no stock in the end. prior to that they recommend me another tamron 11-18 lens and told me that its a new range of lens. as a noob and nv did any research on other lens(which is very wrong) so decided to buy it after testing it and the price is either same as spore or more ex.
Just a note to newbies if u came across a lens that u nv know of and the price range, just dun buy it. will nv regret!

Does Tin Cheung sell L lenses? Cant seems to find it in their website...

Got to camera & lens section. Select Canon as the manufacturer. Sort the items displayed by price. You will see all the cameras and then followed by all the L lenses listed there...

Going to Hong Kong over Chinese New Year 2010..... anyone can advise if they will be opened for biz over the festive season (other than the first 2 days) ?
