anyone knows where/who provide camera removal service for mobile phone/pda? :dunno:

i wonder why you want to do that.... :dunno:

just buy a cheap non-camera phone for less that S$100........

I can do removal for most nokia and pda phones.

Let me know. Contact me at 93897076. :)

Do take note that that MSD does not allow camera-capable phones, PDAs, laptops (basically cameras of any form) into any SAF installation regardless whether the camera is disabled/removed.

just get one of those no-contract phones from 7-11 stores. saves u the hassle of trying to argue with the RP/MP at the gate.

Huh, unless there is a recent change in policy again (as in last few months), you are actually allowed to bring your camera phone into any SAF establishments IF the camera is removed or disabled by an authorised dealer. I have checked with them previously.

go hwz forums look for a guy called 88iphone88 and pm him. he does that too.

thanks all for the infos. am still thinking whether should get a camera phone. at least now i know the service is available.

btw. heard that there is a non-camera nokia e51 coming up.

That permission was rescinded with the latest security directive.

Reason? You just can't tell whether the camera has been disabled or not.

Yes you can, if there is a gaping hole.

I think they might be concerned that since it's possible to remove and remount the camera, one can pass the check with a camera capable camera then pop it back in. Much more secure to have a cameraless phone in the first place.

Sony, Nokia or one of the big brands might consider to make a specially toughned phone for NS. My friend cracked the screen of his handphone when he proned down to demostrate a firing position.
