Calling all Profoto Users

Thanks alot for e info, really appreciate it. My worries are on e demi's weight, might be putting on alot of stresses on e head. Looking at e setti also, it has a bracket, but at 600 watts full, I am not sure how effective it is.

No problems for 600Ws with Setti at half power indoors. Was getting f8.
Tried a 1200Ws indoors and had to dial down to 1/16 to get f11.

Hi all,

I posted a new thread but was advised to use this.
Could anyone share what softbox you use for your Profoto Strobes.
What is the next best to a Profoto Softbox.
As Profoto Strobes are not cheap, i thought i save a little on the soft box unless all feels that it is best to have the entire set to ensure consistency.

Please kindly share your pointers and would appreciate them dearly.

Thank you.

As the Profoto strobes are so evenly lit , with glass diffuser , I normally only use the umbrella .
The Profoto softboxes , because it is still made in Europe , are very good .
Recently , Creative Light , the sister company of profoto provided a new opportunity .
These are made in China , so are cheaper and more like the ones from Swiss and UK brands .
But Shriro brings in the CL with soft grids .
For control , it has to be softbox with soft grids.
So I bought a CL 60x90 cm with softgrid and speedring for $ 500 .
And , they have a softbox umbrella 105 cm for $ 135.
Looking now at the 150cm RF softbox with softgrid , speedring for $ 790 .

If you have the budget for Profoto softboxes just go for it although for myself I still feel it's a bit too much and would rather spend the amount on other modifiers.
I had a side by side comparison of the strip softbox from Profoto and Photoflex of similar size. The one from Profoto was giving light output 1 stop more efficient than that from the Photoflex.
Visually, both I do not see any difference produced on picture.

Hm... Sounds like Profoto is the way to go.
Is there is utility soft box that allows for great portrait and product shots?
So sorry to ask such ignorant question.
Hope to listen to sone wise views and advise if any.
Thanks all.

Please do not have the notion that you need to get all Profoto gears for your system to gel and deliver great photos. If you have the money, that is fine. If not, just work within your budget. I can bet that no one is able to spot the brands of the gear that you use base on the photo alone. I have used many systems from Bowens to elinchrome to Broncolor to Hensel and now Profoto. All are able to produce fantastic results.
I would advice you to save some money and try out the Jinbei softboxes and other accrssories that Kenneth is selling. With the price of one Profoto softbox, you can probably outfit yourself with a few Jinbei softboxes and other accessories that will make your system more versatile. Do not overlook little things like flags, reflectors and support. These are often more crucial than the softbox itself.

Hi Beachbum I am grateful for ur advices.
Hope will someday return the favor.

Cheers
