Bad experience at SLS... I dunno if you have the same experience as me... but walking into any camera shops i always get that
1) now-i-see-you-now-i don't feeling. once they spot you they either try to look away hoping other customers will catch their attention, hence legitmate excuse to ignore my presence. and if they cant avoid, then i get
2)the YES-what-you-want??!!! attitude. Then there are
3)those who pretend to be nice but actually still see you no up. And the lowest of the lot are those who try to
4)'chop' you off eventhough you know more than he does.
Here's my share of experience...yesterday my fren bought this lens from the famous (sometimes) recommended shop in SLS. Bought from a young chap who claim to know the equipment (who wanted to buy the same lens) . Its blur on our part (though not first time buy lens but never from them), and commit the sin of not asking about warranty and only discover it missing when reach home. The quote was $20 cheaper than elsewhere...
When we press for warranty today, he just say the dealer forget to pack it in the box. (harlow??) but if got problem can send back to him. So i ask frankly is it 'water goods' and he try smoke me say this lens good he also want to buy. I mean if its so tell me. When we make the purchase he never say so either. Even dare to quote me the normal price of the lens! It was until we 'confront' him (cause our fren check the price the same morning - and its lower). Then he check with boss and sell us cheaper by that $20. If its 'water goods' then he should not have quoted us a higher price in the first place. So dishonest! To cut things short, we kept bugging him, and my blood boil by the second. Sensing things not right, he offer a full refund saying ' if you are not happy with the goods then..." wah lau eh!!!!!
i tell you no matter how cheap (in this case $20), i rather pay for the service, the warranty card and honesty then anything else! i have my regular shop so i'll go back there now or to the nice one at shaw.
Fellow females no say i never warn you....
