Calibration of Sigma lenses?

sigma has a new tech working for them..the former tech has resigned and joined another company...

as for the rechipped...i do have a 24-70mm f2.8 from the film era.. when i load up to my dslr..its states...NO LENS ATTACHED...

went to sigma..got them to rechipped at $80 inclusive of gst...the lens was working well and its fast...

the problem of compatibility issues tend to occur more with sigma, as opposed to tamron or tokina. in fact, i've never heard of an incompatible tamron or tokina lens; i stand corrected.

but yes, the sigma 120-300EX is a unique beast. and i wouldn't hesistate getting it as its one of sigma's newer Digital Grade lenses. at least, they should work for the next 5 years or so ;p

anyways, its pretty hard to get a 120-300EX in bns.. very few people do buy, and let alone sell this lens.

That is true...I guess Sigma runs into more issues supposedly because the lenses are reverse-engineered. If Canon changes some part of the equation, everything goes out of whack.

The 120-300mm is very tempting because of that large aperture throughout and the great zoom range. I realized that even in the Singapore zoo the light is really poor most of the time, and either high ISOs or larger apertures are needed. Even if I were to do landscapes and stop the lens down, I could still successfully use it on a entry-level DSLR with a 2X TC...

Heheh...even the 100-300mm f/4 is very rare. Had a hunt for it on BnS previously with no luck.

That's pretty good news. At least it's good to hear a real experience of someone who actually got their stuff rechipped.
