Just look at the menu system, compared to A40
A40 even has noise reduction, C2040 when you zoom in and see the picture, there is full of noise.

2. manual mode available with shutter speed up till 15 sec
3. ISO50
4. firmware update available, (Canon release firmware updates, compared to most other brand who don't. Even now A20 has a new firmware for EXIF 2.2)
5. various mode, Sephia, Black/white, Vivid
6. various adjustment, white balance, exposure compensation
7. quite small (at least compared to C2040)
8. Noise Reduction feature
9. ability to turn on low shaperning
10. no troublesome lens cover
11. ranges of accessories available
12. uses CompactFlash and AA batteries


I don't think you can find another 2 megapixel camera with that kind of features and price
