Hi guys

Want some advice on buying Nikon dSLR cam in Japan.
1) What are some good stores to visit? (in terms of price and service) I will be in Osaka and Tokyo.
2) How does the price compare to Singapore (MS, CP etc pricing, not the list price) ?
3) Do they typically offer International Warranty on the bodies and any idea if Nikon Singapore will honour that?

I am going end Oct - Mid Nov. Dunno if the D300 will be available in their shops by then... must be prepared with the right expectation if the temptation strikes. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Thanks in advance!

There's Yodobashi and Bic Camera in Shinjuku Tokyo among others..
Bought a N D80 at Bic Camera last December.. only japan warranty..
japan price slightly cheaper then Singapore
Try to bargain with them abit
hope this helps

Any other advice from the rest of the bros?

Camera bodies do not have international warranty. You can only claim the warranty in the country of purchase. Only lenses have international warranty.

i will like to know wat is the price difference in terms of lens.. wat about flash? also international?

anyone?? =)

The price list for SG is already available here in the Nikon sub-forum. For overseas's one, you have to do your own research.

Hi there, I am now in Osaka so maybe I can give some advice to you :D

As mention by other poster, Yodobashi and Bic camera are huge stores here. However, they have points system that are not very useful for tourist. You can actually save more than 10% by going to normal stores. You can try to browse at Yodobashi's and Biccamera website to get some idea.

Yodobashi camera is in Umeda and Biccamera is in Namba. However, I would like to recommend a small camera store near Namba that I had bought few lenses and its definitely cheaper than both of those big stores.

and the location is here:

I dont know about Singapore as I am Malaysian, but it is definitely cheaper compared to Malaysia by few hundred ringgit.

as some posters said, NOPE. ;)

i dont think it would be available such that you can buy it of from any stores. most big stores practises pre-order. given the respond from the release of D3 and D300 worldwide, it will be in back-orders for a very very long time ... but of course, there is no harm in asking those stores ;)
