Hi, anyone got good place to recommend? Good service and resonable price type.

John 3:16, good service and although price is not always the lowest, it has one of the best after service.

Yeah, John 3:16 is pretty good. MS Colour is also another option. Both these shops quoted the D200 at $2200 - $2300.

I bought mine at the camera workshop as they were willing to do a trade in for my old D100. D200 priced at $2270.

anything else you are getting with your d200? that will determine yur 'good' place.

Anyone got the location of John 3:16? Haha, the only one I know of is in the bible. Where can I find it in Sg?

Does it come with a kit lens or body only? Targeting this cam too, need to know how much to save before i can buy.

D200 is strictly BODY ONLY. there are no D200 kit packages. :)

Hmm, was thinking whether or not to jump straight in and get D200. Heard that it successor coming out next year. Looking at the trend in Nikon products, every 1 1/2 yr or so, there will be a new improved version released. Since D200 was released ard 2005, high chance that an improved version might come out next year.... Haiz... HOW!!!! Hands itchy....

Hi jazman,

yes, there have been rumours about a D200s to be released sometime in 2007.

So far, I have not been able to find any information that confirms that.

I guess the point is this. The price of the D200 has dropped approximately $1000 since it's launch at $3288. Question is whether you think the current price of $2200 and change is a steal for this piece of kit. Personally, the D200 has all the features I require and then some, plus I find the current price reasonable. I think I should be happy with the D200 for some time to come.

Currently, as far as I know, the D200s or whatever Nikon will call it's new camera (assuming it's even in the works) is still vaporware.

but there will always be a replacement in the works. if u keep thinking like tat, u will never get a cam.. if u feel tat the D200 is worth it, then just BBB

shelf life management. if you need a cam now, get it now. if can wait, then you are not needing it now. wait a few months. D200's revised edition should be out Q1 2007.

however going by nikon tradition, a revised D200 should not be too remarkably different from the current one. it is already a highly competent cam. not much to add, except fancier in-camera effects? such as those in D80.

I also think there won't be a D200s but there will be D300 expected in November 2007 quoted by Ken Rockwell. Check this out...

Try Googles "Nikon D300" sure to find some news on it.

haha...remember...after the successor of D200 whether call D300 or D200s or what ya...there will be a better model coming after that...can carry on the waiting game...;)

Hopefully its fullframe. I assume if there's an improvement in D200, it will be aimed at the Canon 5D in regards to 5D's specifications.

Full frame :bsmilie: .

Don't go into a waiting game, it will never end, just get what you need and forget about the new model. Try to use all the features on you existing camera, and tell yourself, have you done using all yet. If not no point getting another new model just because it is new... just a though.
