Buying Lens from Malaysia

Malaysia will implement GST 6% from Apr 2015. Its the first time they do so. Most companies there are already preparing to increase the Retail prices.

Actually the price increase is not really or entirely due to the price gap between SG and MY. I don't think Fuji will be so myopic to do this.

What I heard is the increase is due to the recent weakening of the RM which puts pressure on the import costs.

got a quote from Malaysia.....16-55 2.8 selling $15xx SGD @ 1- 2.65 exchange rate.....looks like not much incentive to get from JB already.

15xx. You could get that price in singapore too and save you the trouble and worry of going over.

I did ask a local reputable shop and is selling at 15xx.

Yes. Malaysia price for 16-55 is the same as Singapore price now. no point going to Malaysia to buy.

Even the 50-140 also increase price in malaysia. BUT still cheaper than singapore by about $200
