Hi i am new here, would like to ask is it we can buy lens from amazon? as i surf i only see it support few country but singapore not included., i heard from ppl can buy but i dunno how.>.<

Anyone here buy before can teach me? Thanks~~

amazon uk or us?

for us, i think you have to use an intermediate service such as borderlinx / v-post singapore to ship the item over. reason is because amazon us will not ship to singapore, if i'm not wrong. so you need to indicate a v-post/borderlinx address in us, and they will redirect it over.

do note that certain things will not be shipped, e.g. lithium ion batteries, because of shipping rules.

btw, you can easily do a search to find out more, no need to wait for people to pull out the whole long story again and again.

If I am not wrong, you will be charge a 7% GST if your package is listed as more than $400SGD (this includes shipping & insurance). With Vpost, the item you want will be even more expensive.

if amazon indicates ship internationally then there should be no problem. i got some stuff like books and flash bracket from amazon.com before, and no problem encountered.

if they send by UPS, you can track the items from your amazon account.

unless stated for that particular item, amazon does not do direct shipping to Singapore,
you'll need to use a courier service, eg. vPost / Borderlinx.

Do note that any purchases above $400 will be taxed.

Why not buy lens locally you are better covered by warranty. Here you can see and
feel the item where else online you only get to see the picture of the lens.Am sure
the lens will not have warranty status once it's exported.Be safe and have a peace
of mind knowing that your money is well spent.

Can try ebay.. I bought some accesories with no problem. Just need to wait about 2 weeks for delivery....

Depend on the price, i was looking for Canon 600mm and locally price is about 14k~15k SGD (if i am not wrong) but price from B&H is 10.5KSGD. There is about 3~4.5K difference (and i think it comes with 1 year international warranty).

if TS is buying canon lenses, do take note the recent change in international warranty policy.

I just bought a Kindle 3 from Amazon via comgateway, I should get it in a couple of days time.

If you're getting lenses, I highly recommend getting it locally. If you find it to be faulty, its gonna be really troublesome and costly to ship it back.

Wow! With the saving, you can buy a ticket to US, have a short trip and then get the lens :D

the main worry is shipping a fragile and expensive item by mail. You probably have seem how a package is thrown about during the sorting and transit.... However, it will not be a concern with they package it properly for shipping oversea.
