To Dylan1987 :
Thanks a lot for your C&C, and sory for being late to replay your email beacuse i had some works to be done, hopefully you dont ming ;p And here is the link for the map where I took the shot, hopefully it can give the information that you need. If you want to walk along the pedestrian at the fly over, the steep / entrance to go up is at the park (right now there is a site counstruction for infrastructure, but you still can go to the pedestrian entrance) between Marina Promenade Park and The Benjamin Shares Flyover. If you come from the Millenia Building , just cross the road, you will see the site construction temporary building, the entrance just near the rear part of the building. Mae sure you get the right entrance, because near there, there are two entrance. Have a happy shooting time ;p

To hotsshooter :

To Catbyte :
Thanks a lot for your C&C, it really encourages me a lot. Here is the information about the photo that you asked.

170 Color of A Cloudy Sunset 05 (Marina Bay, Singapore, 2009)

4144398622_554d697161_m.jpg

Exif Data
Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire
Exposure Mode: Manual
White Balance: Manual
Metering Mode: Center-weighted average
Light Source: Daylight
Contrast: Low
Saturation: Low
Sharpness: Soft
Compression: JPEG (old-style)
Color Space: sRGB

And at Editing (PP/ Post Production) using Adobe Photoshop CS 2, I used some enhancing tool :
Image>Adjustment>Brightness (-5) & Contrast (+5)
Image>Auto Contrast
Image>Match Color (I forgot the exact number of it, i turned on /activated the Neutralize then gave a lower level for luminance, color intensity and fade)
After that I did the “masking editing” with three layers (all using curve tool)which were sky layer (with “deep S” shape curve), buildings + water layer (using “shallow S” shape curve) and water layer ((with “deep S” shape curve)
Then I continued with
Image>Auto Contrast
Image>Auto Level
Image>Hue/Saturation >Hue constant at 0 Level, Saturation (-5). Lightness (-3)

You can also try the other editing that might be also can work for this type of photo to enhance the sky’s tone. I thinks other friends at Clubsnap forum have their own favorite editing way for this purposed.

When I took this photo, I used ND Grad 4 t block the brightness of the sky. It is easier to get more dramatic for the sky at the afternoon (note : the sky is still available at lower postion is better, not until the sun is totally gone), when the sun not to high (near the horizon) so the higher part of sky can become darker (after using ND Grade) while the horizon sky (lower part) still remain bright. I also set the camera with Dynamic Range Optimizer (at Sony camera it called as DRO) at +1 to make the buildings not totally dark because of back light (from the sun). Hopefully this short description will can give you the information that you want to know pardon me if there is something not so ideal. Have a nice shooting time and hopefully you can get the best result based on what you want, cheer ;p

To auden09 :
Thanks a lot for your C&C. Honestly i just feel that I still need to learn more, try and explore more, and also get many input / lesson from all of you ;p If say you want to get know something about the photos, I will glad to share you what I know so far. Hopefully I can give the information that you want to know. Right now (all photos that were taken at year 2009) I seldom use Polarize Filter or CPL, but often use ND Grade 4 for taking outdoor photos that shown a big portion the sky. I just feel ND Grade will also make the sky color become deeper (deep blue) without make other part (like buildings, brighter horizon, etc) become too bluish. And also can block the bright sky (if I put the darker part of ND Grade at the upside of the frame/ at bright sky portion) and will effect the ground part become brighter. The lenses that I used righ now ( since April 2009) are :
1 Wide Angle CZ 16-35 mm F/2.8
2. Zoom Lens CZ 24-70 mm F/2.8
3. Zoom Lens 70-200 mm F/2.8 (G Lens)
4. Fixed lens 50 mm F/1.4 (sony)
5. Fixed Lens 500mm F/8 Reflex (sony)

have a nice long weekend to all of you ;p
