espn said:Actually D2X and D200 uses the same 4 channel RGB-output image processing, the D2HS doesn't use the 4 channel processing. So the D2HS is not processing the images like D2X.

Plenty of use for the D2HS is the filesize, RGB histogram and it's huge buffer, definitely a plus in getting the shot you want with it's fast VF blackout timing and shutter lag.
The whites are also noted to be much better than D2X's white, an improved difference from the older D2H. 3D MMII is godsent, definitely. The focusing is more responsive and more accurate than that of the D2X (firmware 1.0), as of D2X firmware 1.1 the focusing has improved greatly, but the D2HS still is more responsive and tends to lock on better with continous AF.
If you are into casual shots but require the speed and not MP, basically, the D2HS is a good camera.

D2X is a powerful camera, any small minor handshake will NOT be tolerated. If you have VR on your glasses, I don't recommend switching it off, leave it switched on would prove very beneficial in shooting. Speed is everything there is in this camera, on par with the D2HS definitely.
However, resolution is a big headache for RAW shooters, PC comes to a crawl if you're using pretty old technology, on my AMD XP64 3000+ with 1 GB RAM, after about a hundred or so D2X NEFs, the system will show signs of slowing down, but it won't die on you. Capture 4.3 upgrade is a must as it does speed up the loading/processing of the D2X NEFs.
D2X's AWB on outdoors is seriously deadly spot on and doesn't require much correction. Much much more accurate than that of D2HS/D2H.
If you're a pixel peeper, this would be a good camera for you, do note that it resolves details pretty scarily. At 100% zoom, it simply out-resolves what the D2HS can do. Sharpness is amazing also. Speaking of which, if you intend to use any so-called 'inferior' glasses on it, be prepared to accept the results. Use only hi-end or pro-grade glasses if you intend to shoot with D2X, I think I'm not the only one that has mentioned this before.
A point to note is that, if you want the screen with grids for D2X, you'll have to end up sacrificing the hi-speed crop box on both B and V type screens (both supplied with D2X). The E-screen for D2X is the same with D2H, but without the hi-speed crop marked out, so for those hyper-HSC shooters can't use the e-screen.

Another difference significant between the two - D2HS vs D2X, would be the dynamic range (DR), I find I can safely push the curves of the D2X much much further than what I can with a D2HS. The D2HS is rather limited in DR but still is a much better performer over the D70 and D100, I believe it would give better or as good colours as with the D200 despite it's 4MP count (which to me doesn't mean anything).
It will show with your image the type of glass used.

I miss my D2H badly :bheart:
It may sound crazy, but D2Hs is one of my consider option.
