I miss Japan, but the radiation issue is still bothering me.. hoping to return in 2015 before they close Tsukiji and go to Hokkaido too...

was there in Aug 2010, and tokyo was really hot, reaching 35deg, but luckily I was in Hokkaido, which was really pleasant in summer. Spent only 2 days in tokyo (since gotta fly back from tokyo) and really sweltering...

thanks, i had the same concerns too, i heard from many friends who got sick from the summer heat, got one lady friend end up on wheelchair help during her return flight, i guess the heat is very different from our Singapore weather.

Hi all,

I am not too sure if this is the correct kind to pose my question. Hope you will be kind to me. I am going to Japan next month via SQ flight (cabin luggage dimension max. 115cm). I am thinking of bringing along ThinkTank Urban Disguise 40 along with Sirui N-1004 tripod (440mm height folded). Based on your experience, will it be possible to bring these 2 as carry/cabin? The reason is I am trying to have spare space on my lugguage to bring back gifts.

Its humid in tokyo
osaka and kyoto isnt that bad though imho

I would seriously reconsider japan in july aug. Not just the heat upto 38C but the humidity then can b worst/higher than sg.

i heard hokkaido is nice in summer. not too hot, not too cold just ngam.

anyone know the operating hours of the midori-no-madaguchi in KIX?

i might be arriving pretty late and thinking of sleeping in the airport or paid 24-hr lounge until next morning, then get out as soon as i exchange my rail pass.

the only hotel inside KIX is ridiculously expensive.

mid to end october for the northern regions i.e. tohoku

november for regions further south i.e. kanto, kansai etc

i was in tohoku in end oct last year, leaves had turned red/yellow while still green in tokyo.
